GoFundMe to help others in need . . . Hannah's Grace, Inc.
For as long as I can recall, December 31st signified the day when hard working folk contribute to charities to help the least them who may not have the financial means to do for themselves or for their families. Lord knows my beloved mother gave away tons of items year round to the Salvation Army and to other worthy organizations who have made it their life's duty to help others. Like so many in our country, since the onslaught of the Great Recession, families continue to struggle to put food on their tables, many have had to return to the workforce once retiring, and single parents work long hours and often 2-3 jobs to earn a sufficient income. For the first time in my life, I know what is is to have less to live on each month and during my travels, I have encountered several citizens experiencing a season of change. I am certain many will agree, U.S. citizens are a very privileged society. We have opportunities to achieve much in life, but citizens in some communities are not fortunate to possess some of the benefits. In the Bible it is written that the poor will always be among us. I am reminded of many scriptures in the book of lifesuch as Psalm 37, specifically verses 25, 26 . . . Reading from the NIV, "
I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing."
Before I move past this verse, I want everyone to know that I prefer the term "seasoned" rather than old; as my work here on earth is not complete! And there's much to do in our world to help others in need.
If you've been keeping up with my fund raising efforts via GoFundMe, an campaign to raise funds to help people not only in the U.S., but we are revving up to bring different groups of people together to exchange ideas, cultural experiences, life stories reflecting a variety of topics. Some topics of thought will focus on the arts, agriculture, wholeness, architecture, performing arts and more! People from every walk of life and ages will travel to lands unfamiliar to them at the same time help support a small business grow and prosper in 2016 and Beyond!
What a neat and awesome gift; something meaningful -- our experiences to help others . . . To accomplish this great opportunity in 2016, we need the financial support to do so. No amount is too small or too large! And the best part, the donation is tax deductible. All contributions will be given in the name of Hannah's Grace, Inc., a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Take a peek at the web site when you have a moment. www.hannahsgrace.org.
Help us reach our goal . . . We deeply desire to do more for others. If you are unable to donate, please pass this request to someone who will . . .
I will end with the following story . . . During my recent visit to Cuba in August, one of the experiences I will hold in my memory is the time when my guide and I were walking back to the car to continue the visits around the community. My eyes rested on a little old lady around 80 years old, sitting on the curb under a big tree. She sat there with her hand outstretched asking for a gift of money.
Without hesitation, I walked toward the woman to hand her a CUC (Cuban currency). Unfortunately, my guide directed me not to give her any money. I asked why and his response was, "It is not necessary for her to beg for money from strangers because she is already taken care of." Wow, my emotions got the best of me . . . My heart sank. Why? Because I've never paused to give people who are in need a helping hand when they ask or to those who are not capable of asking for help . . . I always give, even if it's my last dollar.
Will you show your generosity by helping me help others and provide greater paths and opportunities to learn and help others enjoy a better life? I welcome you to Go to: https:/www.gofundme.com/x34e3tw or visit www.hannahsgrace.org to submit your donation via the web site.
